Welcome to Muck & Mire Biblical Foundations Counseling!
At Muck & Mire Biblical Foundations Counseling, we believe that there are two pivotal decisions in a Christian's life. The first is Salvation, which is where we are freely given the gift of eternal life at the moment we accept that Jesus is our one true saviour and commit ourselves to make him lord over our life. The second is the process of sanctification. This is where we engage in the continuous process of becoming more and more like Jesus. This happens when we begin to shape how we think, act, and live by intentionally building personal relationships with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. As a byproduct, we begin walking out biblical principles in all aspects of our lives - leading to true healing and lasting freedom.

We have found that many Christian women get lost somewhere between salvation and sanctification and end up with a wrong view of God or a wrong view of how God sees them. At Sacred Tree, we have made it our mission to help women find true healing and lasting freedom by correcting these wrong views, identifying and removing barriers to true identity, and teaching biblical foundations that help them navigate life.

What We Believe...
We believe in the Bible.
Scripture Reference:
2 Timothy 3:16-17
1 Timothy 2:5
Mathew 1:18-25
Romans 1:9
John 14:16, 26

We believe the Bible is God’s infallible and authoritative word that was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of these work together in our lives to reconcile the relationship with our Father that was damaged in the Garden of Eden.

We believe in Jesus Christ; in his virgin birth; in his sinless life; in his miracles; in his payment for our sins on the cross, his death, and his resurrection where he ascended to the right hand of the Father; in his intercession for man, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present power, authority, and guidance of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; we further believe His miracles, power and gifts are available to believers today.
What started in the Garden ended in the Tomb.
We believe that in the Garden of Eden man chose to partner with Satan and exposed humanity to knowledge that led to their spiritual and sometimes physical death. This decision led to the painful and disparaging separation from God in a way that He never intended. We believe this can only be redeemed by the teaching, death, resurrection, and assertion of Jesus Christ. We believe that by partnering with the Holy Spirit, following the teachings of Jesus and making him Lord over our life, we not only have access to eternal life but the ability to know the Kingdom of God in the present. We believe that God's eternal love is shown in His pursuit of our reconciliation back to a full and unhindered relationship with Him demonstrated and made possible through the cross.
What We Value...
Yielded to the process of sanctification.
"God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.”
Titus 2:11-12 TPT
Truth in love.
We are committed to furthering the faith by leading you to fully understand the truth, love, and grace revealed through God’s word which leads to Godliness and rests on the hope of eternal life through Jesus. Titus 1:1
Commitment to discipleship.
With generous love and patient endurance, we are committed to helping others live disciplined lives full of solid faith, dignity, and self-control. Titus 2:2
God's truth over man's opinion.
We are not going to speak of our own opinions or the opinions of the world. Everything we teach will be grounded in and point back to God’s word. 2 Corinthians 10:5, 2 Timothy 3:3-4
Leaders are Continual Learners.
We hold ourselves accountable for maintaining a firm grasp on the trustworthy message of God’s word that we have been taught, enabling us to both encourage others with healthy teachings and provide strong evidence of God’s truth to those who oppose His teaching. Titus 1:9
Living Set Apart.
Our lives should reflect our walk with Jesus. We are committed to living set apart, righteous, and practicing what we teach. We work always to maintain our walk with Jesus. This is not a one-and-done thing. Nor do we claim perfection. True transformation is a lifelong partnership with the presence of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to that process in our own lives and are here to help you. Titus 3:8, Titus 1:7-9, Titus 2:7
Protecting the Purity of God's Word.
We are not afraid to confront corrupt teaching. We are committed to teaching the purity of scripture and to correcting false teachings and messages of counterfeit healing. We don’t go down rabbit holes. We don’t fill in the holes of the mysteries of God with the opinions, theories, and commandments of men. If God hasn’t revealed it, we understand that His thinking is above our own and not everything is for our understanding Titus 3:9, Titus 1:10-14, Titus 2:8
Submission to Authority.
We submit to local and national authorities. Muck & Mire has a board of advisors that help guide and hold us accountable to each of these values. We obey the local and national laws where they do not contradict with God’s values. Titus 3:1
Judgment-free Zone.
This is a judgment-free zone. We commit to a humble heart being not wise in our own eyes, (Proverbs 3:7) Remembering that we also were once where you are. Titus 3:3.

We believe that it is not by works, but by grace, we are transformed. There is nothing you can do to earn right living. It is the connection to God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and the commitment to being more like Jesus that transforms us. Titus 3:5
Serving is an Honor.
As humble servants, we believe that helping others is an honor and a privilege, we are committed to proving ourselves trustworthy and ensuring we provide a safe place in which you feel seen, heard, accepted, and loved. Titus 2:9-10
Living Loved.
“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John‬ â€4‬:â€16‬-â€19‬ â€NLT‬‬
We focus on the following areas of restoration...
Past & Family Matters...
Scripture Reference:
At Muck & Mire Biblical Counseling, we believe that there are times when the problems we experience are passed down through generations or a result of words spoken over us throughout our lives. This can be spiritual in nature or behavioral patterns passed down from one generation to the next. Through the guidance of scripture and the Holy Spirit, we can identify and help correct these generational barriers that keep us from repeating unhealthy family cycles.
Ungodly Beliefs...
Scripture Reference:
2 Corinthians 10:5
Philippines 4:8
Proverbs 23:7
Hebrews 11:6
Ephesians 4:22-24
Romans 12:2

At Muck & Mire Biblical Counseling, we believe that most of our roadblocks to living a life free from the bondage of condemnation and shame rest in a wrong view of God or a wrong view of how God sees you. We work with you to identify these wrong belief systems and help you replace them with the Truth of God's word, renewing the mind and aligning your identity with God's faithful and enduring love.
Hurts & Unforgiveness...
At Muck & Mire Biblical Foundations Counseling, unforgiveness is the main reason we encounter that prevents people from moving forward into healing. It may seem productive, but the festering boil of holding on to how others have wronged you negatively impacts your thoughts and emotions, and acting out of unforgiveness causes us to behave in ways that we otherwise wouldn't. There is no getting around the fact that Unforgiveness is a sin and separates us from God. But scripture also tells us that He is waiting and ready to heal our deepest pain if we will let Him. Forgiveness doesn't heal our hurts but it releases us from the bondage it has over our lives and allows God to pave the way for true, lasting, and complete healing. At Sacred Tree, we get to the root of unforgiveness and demonstrate how when we choose to forgive others it paves the way for God to heal wounds they never thought could heal.
Spiritual Attachments...
Scripture Reference:
Psalms 34:4
Psalms 34:17
Psalms 107:6
1 Peter 5:8
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
John 10:10
Ephesians 6:12
Mathew 10:1
Mark 1:27
Mat 12:44
The above problem areas can leave us open and susceptible to spiritual attachments and demonic oppression. Many people believe that at the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit evicts all demonic oppression. However, in Ezekiel, we can find an example that illustrates the fallacy of this argument. At Muck & Mire Biblical Foundations Counseling we believe, based on scripture, that although Christians cannot be possessed which involves ownership, we can be oppressed which involves bondage to demonic influence. Examples of this play out in everyday life through seemingly unexplained problems, unexplained losses, and people who are angry, irritable, or sad without cause. At Sacred Tree, we are very careful to rule out other causes before we label anything demonic oppression. By process of elimination, the identification of the above open doors, and through careful consideration, we will at times recommend clients go through deeper inner healing and deliverance sessions.
